OUR COMMUNITY
No matter who you are or where you come from, you are welcome here!
FFAUCC is a multigenerational and welcoming faith community that celebrates its Filipino American identity as a unique cultural context for Christian worship and witness.
As one family uniting many families in spirit, and as a home away from home for many members, FFAUCC fosters an inclusive community in which everyone feels seen, valued, and loved as a person made in God’s image.

And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near.
Hebrews 10:25
Our house of gathering is about fifteen minutes south of San Francisco, easily accessible using the Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART), and close to San Francisco International Airport (SFO).
The San Bruno community is generally well-maintained, family-friendly, safe, and welcoming, thriving with local businesses, parks, schools, and public-service organizations.
As members of the body of Christ, we value the racial and cultural diversity that defines the local community and creates a vibrant context for our congregation to engage in outreach and fellowship.
We wholeheartedly embrace traditional and contemporary forms of worship, authentic fellowship, fervent prayer, and rigorous but praxis-oriented the study and application of the Gospel. With the psalmist, our church community prays for God’s illumination of Biblical truth, saying, “Open my eyes, that I may behold / wondrous things out of your law” (Psalm 119:18, ESV).
As we strive to deepen our understanding of the Bible and its implications for Christian living, we also encourage each member of our community to exercise their God-given spiritual gifts, for the glory of God and the good of the world. In turn, we deepen our collective faith as the body of Christ through Holy Spirit-led expressions of servant leadership, within and beyond our congregation.
Our Pastor: The Rev. Epenito B. Ursos, Jr.
Amid the many millstones, it is the milestones that are worth fighting for. Through the people I have in my life, God revealed my call to ordained ministry. Ministry is always a struggle, but if God is with me in the struggle and I have those people beside me, all I can see in the journey is God’s great faithfulness.
A grateful alumnus of Chicago Theological Seminary where he earned his Master of Divinity (Class 2010), he served as youth minister at Mont Clare UCC, Chicago, IL. He was ordained through the Chicago Metropolitan Association of the Illinois Conference in 2015.
He served Faith Community Presbyterian Church in Chicago ministering to the young adults.
The Holy Spirit led him to serve The First Filipino American UCC as senior pastor beginning June 2022.
He is a graduate of Silliman University in Dumaguete City, Philippines, with degrees of Bachelor of Science Major in Biology and Master of Arts in Social Psychology.
He was born and raised in Davao City, Philippines and calls Chicago, Illinois his US hometown. His heart is close to nature, loves to travel with friends and family, enjoys reading, photography, and at times just people watching. His favorite environment is where the mountains meet the sea.
